Types of Canadian Tourist Visa

Visitor visas for Canada come in two varieties:

A single-entry visa allows foreign nationals to enter Canada only once. As long as the visa is valid, holders of multiple entry visas are free to enter and exit Canada as often as they choose. Applicants don't need to select which type of visa to apply for; all applications are automatically considered for multiple entry visas, and single entry visas are only granted in special cases.

As long as the visa is still valid, holders of multiple-entry visitor visas are allowed to visit Canada for up to six months at a time.

How to Apply for a Canada Tourist Visa

A Canadian visa application centre (VAC) is where you can apply in person or online for a tourist visa to Canada. The cost of each application is CAD$100, plus an additional CAD$45 for passport processing and CAD$85 for biometrics. Once your application has been submitted, you must visit the VAC with your supporting documentation, give your picture and fingerprints, and turn in your application. A receipt with a special tracking number will be sent to you; you can use this number to follow your application online. Within two to four weeks, you should receive a decision regarding your profile. To receive a 100% tourist visa to Canada, you must also: Show that you have close ties to your home country; have the necessary funds; have a clear itinerary and purpose for your trip; refrain from lying; and have a fully completed application.
