How can I apply from India for a Schengen Visa?
Most countries have similar procedures for applying for a Schengen visa. You must first determine the kind of Schengen Visa that you require. This will vary depending on your intended destination, the length of your trip, and the number of times you intend to visit your chosen country or country.
The typical Schengen visa, also known as a short-stay visa, is granted for stays up to ninety days. A work or study visa will be needed for longer stays. Additionally, you will require the issuance of a multiple-entry visa if you intend to visit the Schengen Area frequently.
You must apply for your Schengen Visa no later than 15 days or more before your trip, regardless of the type you decide on. In the event that there are any delays in the processing of your application, it is advisable to allow yourself at least three weeks prior to your departure date. After determining which visa you require, you must gather all required documentation (more on that below). Next, you complete an application and send it in. After that, you'll have to show up for an interview at the relevant embassy, consulate, or visa application centre.
What is the processing time for a Schengen Visa?
It is advisable to begin the application process several weeks in advance because the Schengen visa processing procedure can take a while. You might have to wait about 15 days after applying to learn if your visa was accepted or denied. You might, however, have to wait up to 45 days in certain rare cases.
